We built Price Spider because we wanted a clean price tracking tool that respects users. We don't sell data, build invasive marketing profiles, or bombard you with third-party tracking scripts.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect the absolute minimum data needed to run your account and deliver price alerts:

  • Account Profile: When you sign up or log in via Google OAuth or email, we securely store your email address and basic profile info so you can manage your watchlists across devices.
  • Watched Products & Lists: We save the Amazon items you add to your watchlist or custom lists so we can check their prices and notify you when they drop.
  • Basic Diagnostics: Like standard web servers, we temporarily log basic request metrics (IP address, user agent, timestamps) to prevent spam, defend against abuse, and keep our servers running fast.

2. Cookies and Local Preferences

We keep our cookie usage minimal and functional:

  • Authentication Cookie: We use an encrypted session cookie to keep you securely logged in.
  • Interface Preferences: We store non-tracking UI settings (such as your preferred theme or default Amazon region store) so the site looks right every time you visit.

3. Third-Party Integrations

To keep Price Spider 100% free without ads, we work with select external services:

  • Amazon Associates Program: When you click an Amazon product link on our site or browser extension, Amazon may set a referral cookie to credit us with an affiliate commission at no extra charge to you.
  • Google Sign-In: If you choose to log in with your Google account, authentication is handled securely through Google's OAuth platform.

4. Your Control & Instant Data Deletion

Your data belongs to you. You can export, edit, or remove your watchlists at any time. If you ever decide to leave Price Spider, you can permanently delete your account and all associated records with a single click on our Settings page.
